We had a great weedend getaway, but the Augers have most of the pictures so until I get them I won't do my usual 'Monday memory' post. I'm going back to an old memory that I never had time to post during the summer.
Baseball season seemed to go on forever, but now that it is over, I miss it. I miss talking with all the moms and the cute boys in their uniforms and the great times at the hotels.
This was our last big "Hurrah" for the season, The Tournament of Champions.
We did great the first day and won 2 for 2. We thought we were sitting pretty and had a good chance to win just one the next day to put us at the number 1 seed and be playing for the Championship. But, unfortunately we lost both the second day.
The boys had a great season overall with 21 wins giving us the Northern Region League Champion title. They were also the champions of the Heber Valley Firecracker Tournament, and Semi-finalists in the Memorial Day Tournament and Tournament of Champions.
The RedHawks team lost a player and head coach, who moved out of state, so we held tryouts and picked up a new boy from South Ogden. Larry is now Head Coach. We are taking the fall season off, but we've had a few outdoor practices in the good weather and we'll be going to the Sandlot for practices when it gets cold. We're a little worried they will fall behind on their skills as other teams are playing games this fall. We'll also be selling Butter Braids and sports teams drinking cups for our fundraiser. If you know you want any Butter Braids let us know because the Augers won't be selling them after this. Otherwise Hudson might end up on your doorstep anyway. :) Here are some pics from the Tournament of Champions in Heber Valley.
Hud taking his base
Hud pitching. Back at the hotel, the boys relaxing their muscles in the hot tub.
Hud getting thrown into the pool.
Gunner wore us out jumping in over, and over and over.....
Braden (an older brother of a teammate)was a good sport and let Logan wrestle him and throw him around to give us a break. Logan has him pinned on his back, ready to throw him in the pool.
The best part was continental breakfast, that we preferred to bring back to our room to eat. Logan already has the goggles on, ready to hit the pool again.
The boys and all their siblings loved visiting each others rooms. Here's a few of them in our room, on Tierra's roll-away, taking a break from their wild pillow fights and jumping on the beds.
Then we had an after season party at Cade's house up in Peterson. They have a beautiful house with a swimming pool and a breathtaking country view.Hudson jumping off diving board
So many kids!
Cute Kaiya eating frosting.
