Graduation Programs: Hudson and Parks

This has been a wonderful school year! I absolutely loved Mrs. Sheffield and Mrs. Farr and my kids did too. I wanted to put a video of one of Hudson's favorite class songs but Larry said it won't work on this laptop....so I had to settle for just a picture.

Sheffield really loves those kids and her job. Hud's always liked school, but this has been his most favorite year because of her.

Hudson was really bummed they didn't have the spelling bee this year. He said it was his favorite thing to do!

Hudson has Mrs. Whinham for fourth grade, which Tierra had her and liked her and Larry had her too! She doesn't seem that old! Parks has Mrs. Goede. Hudson loved her and keeps telling Parks he will have so much fun in her class. Parks already knows of a few friends in his class and he can't wait for 1st grade to start. He asks me at least once a week when he will be going. Hudson on the other hand had 9 of his good friends get another teacher so I guess he will be making new friends this year. Make new friends, but keep the old...one is silver and the other is gold...isn't that how the saying goes? Hud doesn't seem to mind. He gets along with everybody and loves school and sees all his friends at recess, plays with them after school and has baseball practice and games with 5 of them 3 days a week anyway. Here's hoping for another great year!

Mrs. Farr was Fabulous! She was incredible with the kids and had amazing crafts and projects for them I've never seen before! We will miss her...I hope Logan gets her and Mrs. Sheffield!

It was sooo awesome to have the whole school year preserved and scrapbooked in such a cute way! We also watched a 20 min (at least) slideshow of the kids and the different activities they did throughout the year, photos of holiday celebrations, and pictures of them with their crafts they made.

Mrs. Farr also went to a lot of Jazz games and Parks loved finding her in the binoculars. One night I walked him down to see her during half time. She sat right behind the opposing teams bench. (He would yell "Hi Mrs. Farr" and wave thinking she could hear him from way up in the upper section where we sat. ha ha) Their class also enjoyed Farr's icecream treats throughout the year! yummy

May 2009....This isn't a date dance. It's just a special occasion honoring the 9th graders who are going on to High School with a formal dance attire atmosphere and food.

It is sooo hard finding an appropriate dress these days! Some girls had their dresses before Christmas last year. I for one didn't even hear about the 9th grade dance until about February but we kept forgetting to go shopping. Luckily one week before we found this cute peach dress and gold shoes for a great deal! However it came with spaghetti straps. But I found some material that matched and Diane sewed it on. It wasn't a cap sleep like I'd prefer to have bought in the first place, but it covered her shoulders a lot better than the original ones! So thankful that we have a seamstress in the family. Thanks gram! (You can't even see the new straps since T wears her hair over her shoulders anyway. :)

A Busy Last Day of School

I have so much to catch up on so I think I'll start with the most recent and go backwards.

The last day of school was sooo hectic. I volunteered to run a game at the Kindergarten Field Day. It was cloudy and windy so the water games weren't as inviting to me, but the kids still wanted to get wet. After the games a kid dumped a bucket of water on Parks (without his knowledge or consent). And as I was telling them not to do that a girl was holding the hose on Parks' back! He was drenched and then out came the popsicles. He ate half and didn't want anymore because he was freezing. :) But we had to wait outside for the 1st grade teachers to come tell the kids which class they were going into next year.

I caught Hud and some of his friends heading to lunch. I liked the grades wearing colors. I could pick out the kids easily. 3rd was black obviously from this picture, so all the boys on the RedHawks team wore their black jerseys.
Parks playing pop the balloon game. He's the only boy left. Parks ended up winning because the girl grabbed his balloon with her hands to pop it. ha ha She got tired of chasing him around.
Jonah playing the sponge and bucket game (my station). Which was a dangerous one with a running hose and about 60 Kindergartners! I should have wore flip flops...my socks and tennies were soaked. Logan was my water boy and helped me keep the buckets full.

From school I went to get my hair done and Hudson walked home with Kobe for a swim party. Then at 3pm Larry took him to a birthday party. Then at 5pm I picked him up to go to baseball practice at the Rusts in South Ogden and we had a BBQ with the adults afterwards. They have an awesome house and yard!

Computer-less

Our computer crashed and Larry hasn't had time to fix it between coaching Hudson's baseball team and working 2 jobs, so he finally set up Tierra's laptop for me, but I don't have access to my pictures!

You'd think with not blogging and facebooking I'd have all this extra time but not sooo and I've not accomplished anything else either! Time flies too fast now-a-days. And I'm starting to sound like my mom by saying that.

I'm much looking forward to a relaxing summer after the hectic but oh-so-fun one last year with my sister and her husband and their 5 kids living with us for 6 weeks. And trek!

This year we are not doing Summer Fun or the Bowling League. But I'm getting my boys a Classic Waterslide pass with their friends and hopefully they will learn to skate this summer! I don't know how my kids never learned...we just don't go skating I guess. All they want to do is play on all the other toys there.

Tierra has a Lagoon season passport and the end of July the boys will be taking swimming lessons which I haven't done since Tierra was 9 and Hud was 2.

I hope to just spend quality time with my kids and have structure at the same time as having fun and learning over the summer.
