9 years ago today....

A yummy "Flag" cake made with blueberries and raspberries for Hudson's celebration at Pop and Grams.

Hudson was born on July 1st 2000. A week over due, weighing in at 8lbs even and 23 inches long! We could see just a few days after he was born that he had a touch of red hair.

9 things Hudson enjoys:

1. Riding all the rides at Lagoon. Especially the big ones!!
2. Sports! Basketball, Baseball, and Football and Dodge ball.
3. Fruit: Canaloup, pineapple, strawberries, banana's, apples, oranges and watermelon.
4. Playing with friends.
5. School, math and the spelling bee
6. Swimming and going off the diving board.
7. Reading a good book.
8. Watching movies.
9. Camping and fishing.
H is for humor. (He must get it from me :)) Hudson can always make his brothers, friends and classmates laugh. He is always coming up with funny sayings and nicknames for things too, which he actually gets from his dad. Even on his last report card Mrs. Sheffield's comment was that Hudson had a great sense of humor.
U is for umpteen amount of friends. Hudson gets along with everybody and anybody. He has many, many friends which is nice when it comes to school, cause he always has a friend in his class no matter what. Hud's easy going which makes him likeable.
D is for dude because he is all boy and mostly because that is what him and all his friends and brothers say to each other constantly. ha ha
S is for smartie pants. Hudson loves school and learning. He gets outstanding grades and his favorite subject is math. He loves times tables and enjoys reading when he finds a good book. He has read the first Harry Potter and is half way through the second one in just one month. When his teacher sets his AR goal he says he wants to "challenge" himself and sets it 5 or 10 points higher.
O is for obdurate. Which means stubborn...He gets it from me also. I was trying to keep this positive but I couldn't come up with another O word. :)
N is for nurturing. Hudson has a soft side and is always looking out for his little brothers. Even if it's him that has made them cry he immediately hugs them and tries to make it better...most of the time. :) When a friend calls to play he always asks if Parks can come. He likes to have him around and includes him when doing fun things with his friends.
