Mesquite Trip part 1 March Madness Tournament

We won the first game against The Havoc. Then we were ahead 9-1 in the second game against the Rockhounds and they came back and beat us by one. Heartbreaker! Utah RedHawks in their new uniforms. Top left coaches Aaron & Billy, Wyatt, Hudson, Cooper, Alex, Kaydon, Cade, coach Larry; Bottom left, Noah, Scott, Andrew, Drew & Stockton
Tierra was sitting on our blanket and while the other team was warming up in the outfield a ball came over and bounced on the grass right in front of her, she looked up and it popped her in the mouth. It was bleeding pretty bad and turned purple. These pictures don't even do it justice. Her bottom lip was HUGE. This was taken right after, but they got bigger as time went on. People kept commenting that she didn't need Botox now...well she never did in the first place...she has always had very full lips. She put ice on it the rest of the day and took IBprofen to ease the swelling. She couldn't eat solid foods for a day and couldn't smile at all. She was miserable! Funny thing is she has always been afraid of balls in any sport and she always seems to get hit by them, adding to her fear.
Hudson heading home with directions from third base coach...dad Hud with another hit.

Little pep talk Randy, Kaydon and Hudson

Logan taking pics with my camra

Another one of Logan's pics of his big brother #5

Parks was the big hit with his Nintendo DS

Soaking up some sun at our pool and hottubHudson pitching, second day, game 4. He did really well, especially under pressure...he doesn't choke. The statistics show Hud tied as the third best on base percentage hitter during the tournament. We got killed in the first game against the Long Horns. They ended up winning the whole tournament so it was a little easier to swallow. The last game we again lost by one. All 3 teams that beat us advanced to the quarter finals out of 17 teams! We had a hard group to play against! Sam and Scott came to swim with our kids after the games.

Work Shmurk

I gotta jaw-ob...I gotta jaw-ob. I wish you could hear my singing that for you.

It's the perfect thing for me. It's only 3 days a week....1 and a half hours a day and a couple of hundred dollars a month. The best part is I can never be late. I go on MY time! Wahoooo! (and no it's not donating plasma...that's my other part time job..that doesn't seem to be going so smoothly lately!)
This is the life. I feel like I'm contributing just a little (even though ALL the money will go for our vacation to Germany first). Well maybe I shouldn't say this is the life. "THEE LIFE" would be to be rich and not have to bring in extra money and still be able to travel wherever and whenever I want. But life is a struggle then we die....ha ha

By finding this perfect little part time job that lots of people told me didn't exist makes me happy. When I tell people I want a 2 to 3 day a week job, just a couple of hours a day, they first laugh, then wrinkle their noses, then roll their eyes and act like I'm living in a fantasy world. So now I can do the same to them. HA I guess my fantasy world has materialized into reality. I start tonight...Thursday so wish me luck!

Grizzly Adams has left the building

Larry was excited to have made it on my blog. Here is my favorite pic of him. His hair is the perfect length. Not too short or long...but sexy and flippy around the ears. Have to have the goatie...guess no bishopric callings in his future...I wouldn't be able to support him if it would demand a shave! I'd take the extra hairy any day over the clean shaven look. This was taken probably 4 years ago. This however was taken only a week ago...
Before During.
Sister Shaury is the family hairdresserAfter Diane got a trim too...They look a lot alike...cute. But we still have the scraggly goatie to trim.

Oh that is much better...he says he lost 5lbs. If he shaved his chest and back he'd lose another 5. "Too cool" to take his eyes off the game for his pic Larry told me to take a picture of the cupboard he organized. (not of him organizing the cupboard). Then he decided it needed to be even "more organized." I told him it wasn't blogging material..but then i remembered seeing Jason on Jeni's blog dusting the ceiling fan, so I thought it was good enough. Why is it Larry always wants to clean and organize on Sunday after church...especially when I'm cooking? I don't have the time or the patience to answer where things should go or if I'm using certain items, I'm trying to make dinner for crying out loud. Soon he'll be "one of those guys" out cleaning the garage and mowing the lawn as the bishop drives by. ha ha ha ha That's OK just one more reason for not giving him a prominent position in the church. Whew!

Family BBQ...Take 2

Another flash back to last summer:
This particular Sunday started out with Parks having a severely kinked neck. He woke up crying in his bed because he couldn't move. Here I have a heat sack around his neck and he's propped up the best I could to make him comfortable. He couldn't even try to look at me to take his picture. It hurt him to be moved from one place to another. We all went to church and left him home with Chudri. He was a poor thing, but we couldn't help but laugh at his condition.

Later that afternoon we had another family BBQ to try to get everyone together again while the Najdawi's were here. Chudri, Rance and his kids, and grandma made it, but my dad and Darren and his family couldn't. Just the opposite of last time. Well it's always a good thing to eat no matter who comes. So let's dig in. Jace, Allie and Rance
Jace with our "scary" mask on. This is what you missed out on Augers! Thank heavens huh?
We can't help but end up in a circle talking about the good ol' days.
What are you two up to?

Potty Incentive

Logan was potty trained (except for number 2) 6 months ago, so he's always wore pull-ups so there was no mess to clean up. But lately he didn't care if he wet his pants either! My cousin has a boy the same age going through the same phase and gave me the idea to reward Logan with a toy of his choice by having him add a marble to a jar everytime he used the potty. Only 1 for pee but 10 marbles for going pooh!
We have 80 marbles all together and Logan wants a "black spidey" action figure to join his red spiderman. Well he's done great on not wetting and he doesn't even make me help him like he used to. He would hold it so long that he wouldn't have time to lift the seat and pull down his pants...so he use to dance around asking me for help.
However, he still hides to go pooh. I usually notice he's disappeared and catch him in time and take him to the potty, but he has held it for so long that it won't come and he gets backed up for 3 days then it's a struggle, if you know what I mean. That is why he's afraid to go. Hudson also went through this so I'm getting Logan on some over-the-counter medi to get him regular. Only about 15 more marbles to go and he'll get his Spiderman...but i had hoped with this reward system that he would have potty trained himself by the end. He's only gone twice. So the other 60 have been earned from peeing. It's been a loooong process. I think when we fill the jar, we'll have to start over again!
