Manicures, malls, and movies, Oh my!

Tierra invited 2 friends to get a manicure with her at Marinello's Beauty school for her 16th birthday. Then we went to Costa Vida's for yummy salads and they walked to the Layton Mall from there. I felt special that they let me eat with them. They are soo funny and I really enjoyed hanging out with them. After I picked them up from the mall, we came home and Tierra drove her friends in her car to Savannah's to watch Twilight.

They all had to wait for this one girl to paint flowers on their nails.

( I wouldn't recomment going there. Tierra could have done a better job and she has WAY more choices of colors.)

Can I have this dance?

Tierra got asked to North Ridge's Home Coming today. We threw it in the wash as soon as she got home...when we could have just rinsed it in the sink to make it easier. We forgot to take a pic before it got wet. There were a bunch of boys names on the back...we could pretty much tell already which one would be left..not like she didn't have a guess anyway. :) I don't even know this boy and neither does she is my theory. I think the story is they met on the first day of school when the girls bathroom was locked and so she and a friend had a boy stand guard while they used the boys bathroom...when they walked out there was "Lee". He teased her a little and called her a "faker baker" which she doesn't like at all! Her tan is all natural. After that he would always say hi and smile at her in the halls. He would walk her to her class occasionally. And now they hang out at lunch too.
I'm not very informed, she isn't much for details like I am!

I'll have to pry things out of her this weekend. And we need ideas for answering him.
(Ok my mistake...i published on my blog and facebook that Tierra said he was HOT...well she said she never said that. He is cute though. ) Guess I already embarrased her Paige.

Sweet Sixteen

I feel horrible. This month was an all about Tierra blog month and I didn't even get a post out on her sixteenth birthday! I do have the excuse that I went on vacation (which I will blog about in October).

Tierra had a combined birthday party with her friend Emily the end of August. It was in Emily's aunt's backyard. She has a pool and the party went from 2-11pm. They had tons of balloons, decorations, friends, food, cake and oh yes....boys were invited. Hopefully Emily will give us some copies of the pictures, since Tierra forgot her camra!

On her actual birthday last Friday, she wanted to take a few friends and get a Wingers sticky finger salad and a manicure or pedicure since she loved the one she had in Texas with Paige and Gram. But there was a Northridge football game, which she just couldn't miss, she hasn't missed one yet. So we will postpone it since I flew out to Cali the next morning.

Tierra got a cell phone, hooray! She was ecstatic. She also got a pink and black zebra striped bag and a pink yoga mat to do her stretches and exercises on. Jewelry and a body pillow from Grandma Williams and an apron from Gram.

Again pics to come later...What's a post without pics??? bleh is what it is.

Tierra has asked "If a boy asks me to 'go out with him' can I say yes now"?

OH WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY LITTLE GIRL?!?

Tierra in September

Since Tierra's birthday is this Friday the 11th. I'm going to blog about nothing else but her the rest of this month. She never gets any air time because it seems my 3 hoodlums...i mean boys keep me very busy. As a teenager Tierra spends more time at home while we go out, or out with friends while we stay home. When we are home together she is either doing homework, exercising, dancing or doing her nails in her bedroom, watching something on the "other TV" or her number one favorite thing to do is lay out in the sun. (Mine too) That will soon be ending with fall on the way.
She has done a lot this summer but I will start with her getting a car from her dad last week since she is turning 16 on her birthday.
Phillip just moved to Las Vegas in October but he still has a house here and a huge family that he comes to visit. Since he has a truck and a company car, he gave Tierra his '96 Mazda. The only catch is that when he is in town he gets to use it which means it's still in his name, on his insurance and fully covered by him!! Hallelujah! What a deal!

She has her drivers permit and is taking Drivers Ed at Northridge this semester but she won't be able to get her license until around December. And it will be snowy and icey so I don't see her driving it by herself any time soon! She has been driving the family Suburban so this little car probably seems much more manageable.

She can't wait to get some girly seat covers etc. She already hung a lei on the rearview mirror the day she brought it home!

We haven't taken any pics besides this one on my cell phone which isn't very clear...more pics to come!

Wheeling and dealing with Larry

The end of year RedHawks baseball party was again held at Billy and Cade's house in Peterson. We left South Weber Days after the parade and headed up here. The kids swam even tho it was a windy and overcast. Parks trying out his new swim skills he learned from swim lessons this summer.Hud taking a crazy dive off the board.

I feel bad I didn't get a picture of Larry handing out the trophies to the boys. Afterward Larry and Billy talked to all the parents about where the kids need to improve and any concerns the parents had. Larry had promised the boys that if they played their best at the Tournament of Champions that they could shave his head. But the talking took too long and we forgot that night so we invited the boys to our house and took them to a Bees game. Only a few were able to make it.
It was really just a desire of Larry's to buzz it every year like he usually does in June so why not lay it on the kids like he HAS to hold true to his word...since he knows I hate it buzzed.

Cade seemed like a natural barber. He really enjoyed it and got a little scissor happy on the side of Larry's head. ha ha

Scott and Hud helped out.

Lyn being a hairdresser herself was a little concerned. She touched it up even after I had my turn.

Parks may look happy here, but he told Larry he was ugly and he didn't like it. ha ha Well at least we save on shampoo. And hopefully he is not too old that it doesn't grow back. It is looking thinner than it did last year after the buzz. What did I expect??

First day of school

Hudson is in 4th grade, Parks in 1st
Parks has been counting down for a month for school to start. (Here is Hudsons first day of Kindergarten. And Jessica and Ellie and Megan. Notice Hud wore a Steelers jersey then too. I had a new polo I wanted him to wear this year and he refused.) :)
Logan however is bored stiff. If they are gone before he wakes up the first thing he says is "Where is Hud and Skrapper?" If they leave after he's awake by 10am without fail he is asking "When will Hud and Skrapper come home". That makes for a long day since they've only been at school for an hour. Sometimes even after he's watched them get on the bus...awhile later he'd asks "Where did Skrapper and Hud go?" If we go to the store he repeats several times "We need to go home cause Skrapper and Hud will be there". It's usually only about 11:00 and I have to tell him they haven't even ate lunch yet. Fortunately, we'll be starting the neighborhood preschool in 2 weeks!
The bus was only 20 min lates the first day...no biggy!
Tierra is now attending Northridge High in Layton as a sophomore. She loves it!
Tierra wanted the first "week" of school so she could scrapbook her new wardrobe look.
