Toof-less

An ordinary visit to the Dentist for check-ups left us with an anything but ordinary dilemma.
Looking at Hudson's X-rays the dentist noticed he had 2 sets of adult front teeth. Here he was at 9 years of age and still hadn't lost his front two teeth. Who knew such a simple ordinary thing
Well the second set of adult teeth were pushing on the first set and wouldn't let them descend so he had to have surgery last week to pull 4 teeth, his baby teeth and that extra set. Hud had already lost his two baby teeth on either side of the front two. They are suppose to come in 9 months AFTER the front teeth. Well now I know. They also said it is hereditary....but I don't know of anything like this on either side of the family?? Poor Hud was miserable for at least 3 days. He was on a liquid diet but still didn't want to eat much...shakes is about all he liked. Just opening his jaw to put food in was the most painful. He was actual pretty tough since he never asked for any meds.

Instead of bulking up for football he was losing weight! He had to miss football practice which he hated. But he didn't want to stay home, he went and watched practiced the very day of his surgery with a bloody gauze pad hanging out of his mouth. I have to cut the corn off the cob for him and cut up his apples like you do for old people. :)

Now he looks like a vampire which reminded me of Logan.
Logan got this awesome treasure chest from Dawson and it came with a lock and key. Since we are still in the "refusing to go poop on the potty" stage at almost 4 yrs old, I'm trying something new that my cousin told me worked for her little boy. I put a surprise of some kind in the treasure chest and lock it. When Logan poops on the potty then he gets to have the key and open it. His first surprise today was wax vampire teeth! Hooray for Gunner! Now if only he wouldn't clog the toilet! :)

Speaking of teeth I couldn't help but mention Skrapper lost his first tooth last Sunday up at Gram and Pops. It was a family affair (or cousin I should say) Parks bit down on a corn cob and realized he needed to lose that tooth if he wanted to enjoy his dinner. He ran to Larry and told him to pull it. Larry tried and it needed some more time. Parks has no fear. He plopped himself down on a quilt and let Abby work on it for awhile with at least 5 other cousins crowding around. It finally moved to the front of the house where Abby was prepared with paper towels and a glass of water to rinse his mouth out. After a few "pops" it came out. Jonah and Parks showing each other their missing teeth.

Narnia day (May 14th)

I haven't had time to post this but it was a huge deal for the 3rd graders and I also was on the committee and helped out. We started planning this in November. It started at 9am and went until school got out at 3:25! I had a lot of fun working with Diana Hyer and doing things preparing for the actual day. Glad it is over but hope that Parks is lucky enough to have Mrs. Sheffield and enjoy this awesome day also. I wish I could have added more pics. It said i could put up to 400 but I only could do 30?? I needed maybe 5 more is all!

10 year anniversary

We were married on Friday the 13th. Larry picked the date because he thinks it's lucky. That shows what an optimistic person he is. He is very superstitious however. Things like not washing your game socks or shaving or getting a hair cut when you are on a winning streak in sports. If I could have done anything different...I would have chosen a cheaper photographer cause he was $#@& expensive and not any good afterall!!! My friend Christine took better pics that day with her camra and they were more meaningful and natural. She caught those precious moments in the brides room! If I could find them I would have posted them...I'm so far behind on my blogging that I won't promise to post them later. If I do then I do.

I Love You Larry!

Oh my how the families have changed!

For the past couple of years I always thought I'd want to do something big for our 10th...like Hawaii, but now that it has creeped up on us, we just don't seem to have the time or money! So tonight we are going to a movie (The Proposal) how fitting. Tomorrow we will go with the kids to Lava Hotsprings to camp for a few days. Next month Larry is going to California for 9 days on a business trip so to celebrate our anniversary I will fly out there and spend a weekend with him. He keeps asking me to plan what I want to see and do....all I want to do is relax and go to the beach and eat some good food!

9 years ago today....

A yummy "Flag" cake made with blueberries and raspberries for Hudson's celebration at Pop and Grams.

Hudson was born on July 1st 2000. A week over due, weighing in at 8lbs even and 23 inches long! We could see just a few days after he was born that he had a touch of red hair.

9 things Hudson enjoys:

1. Riding all the rides at Lagoon. Especially the big ones!!
2. Sports! Basketball, Baseball, and Football and Dodge ball.
3. Fruit: Canaloup, pineapple, strawberries, banana's, apples, oranges and watermelon.
4. Playing with friends.
5. School, math and the spelling bee
6. Swimming and going off the diving board.
7. Reading a good book.
8. Watching movies.
9. Camping and fishing.
H is for humor. (He must get it from me :)) Hudson can always make his brothers, friends and classmates laugh. He is always coming up with funny sayings and nicknames for things too, which he actually gets from his dad. Even on his last report card Mrs. Sheffield's comment was that Hudson had a great sense of humor.
U is for umpteen amount of friends. Hudson gets along with everybody and anybody. He has many, many friends which is nice when it comes to school, cause he always has a friend in his class no matter what. Hud's easy going which makes him likeable.
D is for dude because he is all boy and mostly because that is what him and all his friends and brothers say to each other constantly. ha ha
S is for smartie pants. Hudson loves school and learning. He gets outstanding grades and his favorite subject is math. He loves times tables and enjoys reading when he finds a good book. He has read the first Harry Potter and is half way through the second one in just one month. When his teacher sets his AR goal he says he wants to "challenge" himself and sets it 5 or 10 points higher.
O is for obdurate. Which means stubborn...He gets it from me also. I was trying to keep this positive but I couldn't come up with another O word. :)
N is for nurturing. Hudson has a soft side and is always looking out for his little brothers. Even if it's him that has made them cry he immediately hugs them and tries to make it better...most of the time. :) When a friend calls to play he always asks if Parks can come. He likes to have him around and includes him when doing fun things with his friends.

Graduation Programs: Hudson and Parks

This has been a wonderful school year! I absolutely loved Mrs. Sheffield and Mrs. Farr and my kids did too. I wanted to put a video of one of Hudson's favorite class songs but Larry said it won't work on this laptop....so I had to settle for just a picture.

Sheffield really loves those kids and her job. Hud's always liked school, but this has been his most favorite year because of her.

Hudson was really bummed they didn't have the spelling bee this year. He said it was his favorite thing to do!

Hudson has Mrs. Whinham for fourth grade, which Tierra had her and liked her and Larry had her too! She doesn't seem that old! Parks has Mrs. Goede. Hudson loved her and keeps telling Parks he will have so much fun in her class. Parks already knows of a few friends in his class and he can't wait for 1st grade to start. He asks me at least once a week when he will be going. Hudson on the other hand had 9 of his good friends get another teacher so I guess he will be making new friends this year. Make new friends, but keep the old...one is silver and the other is gold...isn't that how the saying goes? Hud doesn't seem to mind. He gets along with everybody and loves school and sees all his friends at recess, plays with them after school and has baseball practice and games with 5 of them 3 days a week anyway. Here's hoping for another great year!

Mrs. Farr was Fabulous! She was incredible with the kids and had amazing crafts and projects for them I've never seen before! We will miss her...I hope Logan gets her and Mrs. Sheffield!

Saying his part that he had memorized.

"Skiddamarink-a-dink-a-dink, skiddamarink-a-doo, I love you!"

Mrs. Farr giving Parks a scrapbook from the whole year that had pictures and the kids artwork and penmanship. It was sooo awesome to have the whole school year preserved and scrapbooked in such a cute way! We also watched a 20 min (at least) slideshow of the kids and the different activities they did throughout the year, photos of holiday celebrations, and pictures of them with their crafts they made.

Mrs. Farr also went to a lot of Jazz games and Parks loved finding her in the binoculars. One night I walked him down to see her during half time. She sat right behind the opposing teams bench. (He would yell "Hi Mrs. Farr" and wave thinking she could hear him from way up in the upper section where we sat. ha ha) Their class also enjoyed Farr's icecream treats throughout the year! yummy
