Mesquite part III

(For those of you on facebook, the Mesquite pics may be a repeat)
After hiking Snow Canyon the boys wanted to swim at the Woolsey's hotel pool. So all the girls went shopping at the Red Cliff Mall while the boys swam and played some parking lot football. We stayed 4 nights at the Oasis where we did a little swimming and laying out.The boys watching a DVD on our laptop. We had a 2 bedroom suite so Tierra had her very own studio apt. Which she loves!Logan had his very own queen size bed while the older boys slept on the fold away couch.
Larry looks forward to Casa Blanca's Sunday Buffet Smorgasbord...it's delicious! Even with the cook of 15 years gone and a new woman making the Belguim waffles and omelets.

3rd Grade Buy and Sell

"Hudson's Variety Store"
Hudson (I should say "I" cuz I manned his store most of the time so he could shop) sold tattoos, mini pops, mini chocolate donuts, and glow-n-the-dark necklaces and bracelets.
I found Parks heading out to recess so I brought him in to go shopping with Hudson. He loved it. We still couldn't spend our money fast enough. I wish I had been on the ball and bought all the pops, candybars and snacks I found because really they were "free"!!! Natalie Roper and I were running around at the last minute trying to snatch up anything left. It was a blast.
Lynn manning Scott's store. Scott, Hudson, Parks and Alex covering themselves in tatoos! Heidi (Mrs. Woolsey, the school secretary) had been given money from students, so she came in to buy things for Jacob who is in the 2nd grade. She gave me his money so it was mine and Hudson's job to buy him toys and treats. Oh the pressure! :) We still had tons of money left over when the day was done.

I paid my 5 bucks (what a steal!) to have my picture taken with Edward Cullen. Notice how jealous Bella is next to me!

I had to take a picture of Kaydon who was happy as a clam eating his cotton candy with his newly painted black fingernails! Hope Coach Larry doesn't notice them at baseball practice tonight. ha ha
Kaydon also got his picture with Bella. I asked if he knew who she was and he didn't. He said he was the first boy to get a picture with her that day though!
The sad thing is Mrs. Sheffield informed us that "Business and Economy" was being taken out of the school curriculum which means the 3rd graders will probably no longer be doing the buy and sell. ??? With today's economy is that such a bright idea?

Mesquite part II Snow Canyon with the Woolseys

Trailhead The Woolseys were visiting Heidi's grandma in St. George the same weekend we had our baseball tournament. They came to Friday's games to watch Hudson and Scott play. Then we met them Saturday to hike Snow Canyon, a tradition for them. I was so excited to have something new to do when we go down there from now on! It is soooo beautiful!
Easy climbing, it was like steps all the way up.

Hudson and Jacob were always ahead of us!

Larry and Mike carried our lunches.

Best buds
We sat at the top to eat our lunch.

The views were breathtaking.

This is the Mountain to our left that Hudson, Jacob and Parks hiked to the top of and back before we were even done eating our lunch! They are just dots on the mountainside from here.

Taylor, Alix and Tierra

Why they have to take their shirts off is beyond me. Skinny, white, bony boys, always flexing their muscles! ha ha ha

While hiking we lost Hud and Jake. Heidi and I went back down to this Lava Rock cave because we knew they wanted to go down in it and sure enough....after much hollering we heard them deep down inside the cave...there are two entrances and it's pitch black deep inside!

So all of us came back and ventured inside.

Mike had gone in ahead and hid in a hole waiting for the girls. When they got close enough he turned the flashlight on his face and growled. Logan heard the screams and started hiking back out by himself!
Hud and Jake found a new way out...They got scrapes from it but they kept doing it several times!
Eating a snack outside the cave.

Heading back down the trail for home.

Mesquite Trip part 1 March Madness Tournament

We won the first game against The Havoc. Then we were ahead 9-1 in the second game against the Rockhounds and they came back and beat us by one. Heartbreaker! Utah RedHawks in their new uniforms. Top left coaches Aaron & Billy, Wyatt, Hudson, Cooper, Alex, Kaydon, Cade, coach Larry; Bottom left, Noah, Scott, Andrew, Drew & Stockton
Tierra was sitting on our blanket and while the other team was warming up in the outfield a ball came over and bounced on the grass right in front of her, she looked up and it popped her in the mouth. It was bleeding pretty bad and turned purple. These pictures don't even do it justice. Her bottom lip was HUGE. This was taken right after, but they got bigger as time went on. People kept commenting that she didn't need Botox now...well she never did in the first place...she has always had very full lips. She put ice on it the rest of the day and took IBprofen to ease the swelling. She couldn't eat solid foods for a day and couldn't smile at all. She was miserable! Funny thing is she has always been afraid of balls in any sport and she always seems to get hit by them, adding to her fear.
Hudson heading home with directions from third base coach...dad Hud with another hit.

Little pep talk Randy, Kaydon and Hudson

Logan taking pics with my camra

Another one of Logan's pics of his big brother #5

Parks was the big hit with his Nintendo DS

Soaking up some sun at our pool and hottubHudson pitching, second day, game 4. He did really well, especially under pressure...he doesn't choke. The statistics show Hud tied as the third best on base percentage hitter during the tournament. We got killed in the first game against the Long Horns. They ended up winning the whole tournament so it was a little easier to swallow. The last game we again lost by one. All 3 teams that beat us advanced to the quarter finals out of 17 teams! We had a hard group to play against! Sam and Scott came to swim with our kids after the games.
